Discover and plan
The Catalog is the master index of collectible collections. Open a collection to see its included cover packs and progress; only collections currently unlocked for you appear as available on the map and in scanning.
Explore shows unlocked covers as map markers. Search by cover details, filter by collection or prefecture and collected status, then open a marker to review the cover and location before you travel.
Yes. Download supported map areas before a trip, while remembering that official websites and live services may still need a connection.
Scan and collect
Open Scan, allow camera and location access, and point your iPhone at the real cover. The app prepares nearby reference designs and only records the find after both the design and your location pass its checks.
Yes. Reference preparation starts only when you are within 250 metres of a known cover, and a capture normally requires you to be within 75 metres. Current GPS accuracy can widen that final limit, but never beyond 250 metres.
Yes. Recognition must identify one of the nearby reference designs, and the identified cover must also pass the location check. A picture of a different design or a scan from another place is not accepted as that cover.
The cover is marked as collected with its capture details, saved to your on-device collection, and opened in Album. Scanning a cover you already collected opens its existing Album entry instead of adding a duplicate.
Normal recognition runs on the device. Assisted Scan uploads only after explicit submission and includes a fresh cover photo, precise location, the selected cover, and scan diagnostics.
Access and data
Catalog collections can be unlocked with their individual non-consumable purchase, an eligible parent collection, or the monthly All Access subscription. Restore Purchases asks the App Store to refresh eligible entitlements; it restores access, not captured Album progress.
Manhole Quest currently has no import, export, or collection-transfer control. Captured Album progress is stored in the app’s local database on that device. Restore Purchases can recover eligible StoreKit access, but it does not move capture records.
No. The main collecting loop does not require an account.
